Manitowoc Police: Benches on Terrace Weren’t Free; Please Return Them

MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Police want whoever took park benches from outside the Rahr West Art Museum ahead of Sputnikfest to return the benches.

Manitowoc police released video of the theft, which they say took place early last Thursday morning. The benches were placed on the terrace area along Park Street.

Officers acknowledge that, since the benches were placed on the terrace, the person who picked them up may have believed they were there for the taking. If that is the case, criminal charges may not be filed if the benches are returned.
