MADISON, WI (Wisconsin Radio Network-WSAU) The Wisconsin National Guard says it will not be tasked with enfocing any “safer at home” related executive orders from Governor Tony Evers. The Adjutant General of the National Guard said troops won’t be used to keep people in their homes.
Major General Paul Knapp said the Guard is being deployed to help doctors and public health managers. Knapp said troops will not act as police.
Knapp said rumors about a troop-enforced lock-down are simply that – rumors. Governor Evers said enforcement of “safer at home” is a local responsibility.
