SHEBOYGAN, WI (WTAQ-WHBL) – Sheboygan’s Mayor is under fire, accused of an ethics violation for a photo that was posted to the City’s Tourism Facebook Page late last month.
Concerned citizens have sent letters to councilmembers, calling on the Common Council to conduct an investigation into Ryan Sorenson, claiming he violated part of the City’s Ethics Policy – where he posed with the Sisters for Perpetual Indulgence during a pride event in Sheboygan on June 24th – The members were dressed in outfits mocking nuns and the Catholic religion.
When an alderman went to the City Clerk’s office Thursday afternoon to have those letters included in Monday’s common council agenda… he says he was turned down. The Mayor, who rarely vetos items on the agenda, decided within minutes to exclude this item from Monday’s Common Council meeting.
A protest is planned at Sheboygan City Hall Monday night at 6 during the council meeting.
