ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — It was a hazy flyover Tuesday for a Milwaukee-based air refueling wing.
The 128th Air Refueling Wing marked a century of work by flying over parts of Wisconsin.
The 128 ARW, “Brew City Tankers,” operate 10 KC-135 Stratotankers on behalf of the Air National Guard and U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command.
Air refueling propels our Nation’s air power across the skies, unleashing its full potential,” said Gen. Mike Minihan, Air Mobility Command commander. “It connects our strategic vision with operational reality, ensuring we can reach any corner of the globe with unwavering speed and precision. Air refueling embodies our resolve to defend freedom and project power, leaving an indelible mark on aviation history.”
The Brew City tanker flew over Lambeau Field after 11 a.m. and later over Door County, east of Bailey’s Harbor.
The route also includes passing over Oshkosh and near Weyauwega but at a higher altitude.
Other locations include American Family Field, the state Capitol, the Wisconsin Dells, Volk Field and the Minnesota State Capitol.
