GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – I guess Owen Miller can go home again. The Mequon native spent two years in Cleveland before getting traded to his hometown team this off-season and Miller delivered a satisfying go ahead RBI double in the top of the 10th inning to beat his old team and earn the Brewers a 5-4 series winning victory. It was Miller’s second RBI double of the game as he helped stake the Crew to a 4-1 lead. Christian Yelich, Rowdy Tellez and Joey Wiemer also drove in runs in a three run third. Corbin Burnes gave it all back when Cleveland scored three times in the 6th to tie the game at 4. Burnes got through five and two thirds innings, giving up the four runs on 8 hits with two walks and three strikeouts. The Brewer bullpen then did it’s part. Joel Payamps gave up a couple of hits in the 8th but two big strikeouts kept Cleveland off the board. Devin Williams worked a clean ninth setting the stage for Miller’s heroics at the plate in the 10th. Elvis Peguero then finished it off. He gave up a lead in Saturday’s loss to the Guardians but he struck out two and then gave up a long fly that Brian Anderson chased down at the wall to earn his first save as a Brewer. Milwaukee heads to New York with a 40-37 record and they picked up a game on Cincinnati as Atlanta knocked off the Reds 7-6. The Brewers are one half game behind in the NL Central race. Colin Rea will face Justin Verlander in the series opener Monday night at Citi Field. Pre-game coverage begins at 5:35 PM with a 6:10 PM first pitch on WTAQ.
