GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — With Aaron Rodgers reportedly close to being a former Packer, the Green Bay community is already moving on.
Artist Beau Thomas, who painted the “King of the North” mural, which featured Aaron Rodgers and took eight hours to create, was back at the building Monday.
Thomas said Rodgers was one of his favorite players to watch over the years, and the team was lucky to have him, but if he’s not in the green and gold there was no need to honor him in this way.
“Just kind of a disappointing end to his career here,” Thomas said. “I think a lot of fans are disappointed how things turned out and wherever blame lies it’s just kind of a weird mural to still exist and be up when he’s no longer in the Packer uniform.”
Thomas is replacing the “King of the North” mural with one that features a skull and flowers. He says viewers can interpret it however they want.
