CARLSVILLE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Door County Candle Company is doing its part making a difference across the world.
The Ukrainian-American business, owned by Christiana Trapani, has met its $1 million fundraiser goal in support of the ongoing war in Ukraine. The next goal is set for $2 million.
100% of profits from the candles as a part of the fundraiser are donated to Razom for Ukraine, a Ukrainian 501 (3) organization.
All candles are handcrafted and hand-poured in small batches at the store.
The candle company’s mission is to help those in need, one candle at a time.
This fundraiser has allowed the business to bring further awareness to the needs in Ukraine.
Since the Ukraine candle, Door County Candle company has expanded to create other candles supporting other causes.
“We have one right now for Girls Inc., and we’re launching one this weekend just for two days where you buy a tree-scented candle and we will plant a tree right here in door county.” said Trapani. “We’re also doing one for a Hawaiian sea turtle hospital.”
