(WTAQ-WLUK) — The return of clear skies following recent winter storms led to a few more sturgeon being speared Friday on Lake Winnebago.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says there were 11 fish taken — four more than Wednesday and Thursday’s numbers.

There were six males, five adult females and no juvenile females speared.
The busiest registration station was Southwest Winnebago, which saw four fish registered.
The largest sturgeon of the day was an 87.6-pound, 72.8-inch fish speared by Aaron Muche.
For the season, there have been 1,323 sturgeon speared — 1,038 on Lake Winnebago and 285 on upriver lakes Butte des Morts, Winneconne and Poygan.
Spearing on the upriver lakes ended last weekend.
There are two more days left in the Lake Winnebago spearing season.
