Back home from a successful holiday in the Bahamas, the Wisconsin Badgers hosted Wake Forest as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at the Kohl Center Tuesday night. The Deamon Deacons held off every Badger rally for a 78-75 victory, improving to 7-1 on the season. Wake was led by point guard Tyree Appleby who scored 20 of his game high 32 points in the second half. Saddled with foul trouble in the first half, Wisconsin struggled to find consistency and while they stayed in the game, they never could seize control. Chucky Hepburn finished with 23 and Tyler Wahl added 17 for the Badgers who dropped to 5-2 on the year after winning two of three games in the Battle for Atlantis, the only loss in overtime to defending national champion Kansas. Wisconsin will travel to Milwaukee to play in-state rival Marquette on Saturday.
