GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The Green Bay Area Public School District is looking forward to improvements that will be brought fourth due to Tuesday’s passing of the referendum. The referendum passed with 69% approval, and will help fund improvements to the district’s stadiums, auditoriums, playgrounds, mechanical systems, windows, roofs, and more.
Green Bay Area Public School District Director of Communications, Lori Blakeslee, said “We knew that there were concerns regarding reassessment of property in the City of Green Bay, and so I think were were anxious to see what the results would be.”
The referendum was for $92.6 million, and Green Bay Area Public School District is in a position to pay off the bond for the referendum in 2-3 years.
Blakeslee said the district is excited for students and staff, and very grateful to the community.
