75 years ago, a turning point in WWII took place on the beaches of Normandy. Many young men lost their lives storming those beaches. Soldiers who survived say although many movies have attempted to depict the horrors they faced, they all fall short.
My grandfather, Thomas Thaddeus Pfeifer, was one of these brave men. I don’t know a ton about it, just that he was there and he didn’t like to talk about it. Never forget these men who changed the course of history.
I saw this video and had to share today. Tom Rice parachuted into Normandy, France, on the 75th anniversary, riding in the same type of plane he jumped from in 1944: a C-47.
