Fife’s Furballs! Meet Blaine!!!!
Blaine is a 4 year old Great Pyrenees mix that made his way to Wisconsin from a rual Kentucky shelter. He spent 2 years in the shelter and escaped death row many times thanks to the volunteers that saw his potential and gental demeanor.
Blaine weighs 80 lbs and does great walking on a leash with a Halti training/walking harness. Blaine would make a perfect family dog because of his compassion for kids of all sizes.
Blaine is crate trained and house trained. He knows sit, stay and working on leave it. Blaine does stay close when off leash and would need a large yard to roam. He has a moderate energy level and enjoys showing affection to his handler. He would be a great dog to take camping, love to swim, enjoys hikes, car rides and hanging out on the couch. His foster describes him as a gentle giant.
Blaine needs to be an only dog due to his high prey drive and being tempted to chase small animals. He has has a long journey since being dumped at shelter and is ready for his forever family!
It should be known that Blaine is a protector. That means when he is in his domain, he doesn’t like surprise guests. With more training, this can be helped. A person with experience in working with dogs is a must for this big ball of fur!
An application to meet Blaine can be submitted on this website and his foster will be in contact with you!
