If you were one of the 10 million people who saw this online Saturday night, you got quite the treat.
The maker of the Fortnite video game, Epic Games and Marshmello teamed up to amaze Fortnite fans with a live in-game concert.
Since the event premiered, fans debated whether Marshmello’s voice during the show was live broadcasted or pre-recorded. Fortunately, the artist put the debate to rest as he confirmed that it was indeed his voice live.
The concert was entirely virtual, briefly turning Fortnite from third-person shooter into music venue.
When players logged in to Fortnite – which has over 125 million players, according to developers Epic, players were met with only one competitive game mode available to them.
By joining, players would see a large concert stage featuring a Marshmello avatar and trademark turntables.
Marshmello himself was being broadcast to players, urging them to make their avatars dance along to the music as he played a set including his smash hit “Happier.”
