LONDON, ENGLAND (WTAQ) – That’s a long way to go to get beat. The Green Bay Packers play one of their worst second halves in a long time and lose Sunday’s game in London to the New York Giants 27-22.
Things looked promising at the start as Green Bay, led by a pair of touchdown passes from quarterback Aaron Rodgers, moved the ball well early and took a 20-10 lead in the locker room at halftime.
But the Giants kept battling and kept the Packers defense on the field for long stretches of the 2nd half, scoring 17 points to the Packers none and taking a lead they would never lose.
Green Bay had a promising drive going at the end that could have potentially tied the game, but two passes, on 3rd and 4th down, were knocked away by the Giants defense and had to turn the ball over.
The Packers kept the Giants bottled up and forced New York to punt from their endzone with seconds left. They chose to run the ball out of the endzone and give up two points, but had more room to kick the ball back to Green Bay.
The Giants defense kept the pressure on Aaron Rodgers and never allowed him to launch a Hail Mary at the end.
The Packers fall to 3 & 2 on the season. They make the flight home and are due in Green Bay around midnight tonight. The Packers play the New York Jets next Sunday at Lambeau Field.
