In a story reported by CBS This Morning:
In early 2018, Connie Despanie & Benjamin Hall were celebrating the birth of their newborn son at a medical center in Louisiana.
At the same time, a woman named Jamie Fontenot was at the hospital grieving her 86-year-old father who just passed away at the same medical center.
Upon the birth of Connie’s baby, the medical center played a song over the intercom system that touched Jamie in her time of sadness.
She wrote the following note and gave it to the staff to pass along to the happy new parents:
The letter read:
“To my dad’s angel, even though I will never know your name, you are the first child born here after my dad’s passing. When one life is taken, another is given. Please keep my dad in your prayers.”
Upon reading it, Connie, the new mother, got choked up and new immediately what they needed to do: while they had already named their new son Kingston, they hadn’t decided on a middle name yet, so after a little investigating they discovered that Jamie’s late father was named James…so that is now Kingston’s middle name!
Upon hearing this, Jamie was very touched and grateful and was able to meet little Kingston James in an emotional introduction:
