In a story reported by KGO-TV:
A 23-ear-old server in New Jersey named Courtney English is eight-months pregnant but has been “working her butt off” to save money for when the baby comes.
Recently , a policeman stopped in for lunch and overheard her having a conversation with people at a different table about how excited she was for her first child.
The officer, who wanted to remain anonymous, had recently experienced the same type of excitement as his wife had given birth to their first child.
Out of the kindness of his heart the policeman decided to leave a big tip – $100 – on an $8.75 bill.
The gratitude that English felt after receiving not only the extraordinary tip, but also a little message he wrote on the receipt resulted in tears.
“I started crying. This doesn’t happen. It was really genuine, it was really nice” she said.
The way we’re hearing about this random act of kindness is that her father posted about the deed on Facebook and it has gone viral. Her father wrote:
“I don’t know you Mr. Police Officer, but you made my little girl cry, and you made her year. Thank you, I always had the utmost respect for officers, but you went above and beyond [by not just being] an officer, but [also] a beautiful human being.”
