She’s known as a “miracle” girl – 3-year-old Victoria Komada was born with a deformity condition which results in deformed legs and missing bones.
Unfortunately, both of her legs were basically bent backwards and there was little hope by the doctors in her homeland of Poland that she’d ever be able to walk, without having to have a double-amputation.
Her parents didn’t give up their hope tho of avoiding that scenario. They were able to find a doctor in Florida who was able to reconstruct one of her legs.
The surgery, however, was going to cost the family approx. $235,000.
Through online fundraising, the money was raised – with most of it coming from complete strangers – and the family flew to America for the nine-hour operation last Summer. A follow-up surgery in November led to a miracle – little Victoria, with a GIGANTIC smile on her face – was able to walk for the first time!
Now, the family is back in Poland and through ongoing treatments, she’s not only able to walk, but run and play sports as well!
