Natalie Reilly lost her mother to cancer a little more than 4 years ago – but what she gained was something she never would have imagined.
To help cheer her up during her cancer treatments Reilly and her mother used to regularly write hand-written “thank you” letters to first responders – and hand them out in-person in her home state of Arizona.
Oftentimes, the recipients would break down over the simple, sincere form of gratitude.
Reilly continues to do that now as she manages
Nothing But Love Notes
– which has written and sent more than 20,000 cards to firefighters and police officers.
Reilly told CBS 5
: “…I gained an entire community of amazing people who support me, our mission and our nation’s heroes!”
The kicker is, not only have her letters help bring cheer to thousands, but she is also now dating a retired police officer who received one of her letters last year!
