GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The team, along with Bellin Health and the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation kicked off its sixth year of the Packers vs. Cancer campaign, which raises awareness for all cancers.
Packers running back AJ Dillon helped launch the campaign Tuesday by sharing his story about how cancer has impacted his family.
The campaign will be front and center during the Packers game against the New England Patriots at Lambeau Field, Sunday, Oct. 2. Attending fans will receive a jersey-shaped rally towel and be able to see game entertainment elements that honor cancer survivors and their loved ones.
Fans can also make a difference inside the Packers Pro Shop. The store is kicking off the campaign through the sale of a new Packers vs. Cancer hat, where $5 from each hat sale going directly to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation. The green and gold New Era winter knit hat features the Packers logo on the front and the Packers Vs. Cancer logo on the back and is available now, both in-store and online. Shoppers at the Packers Pro Shop can also help raise funds for the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation by adding a $1 or more donation to any purchase, starting now through the month of October.
Several other Packers players will be out and about over the next month promoting the campaign.
On Friday, Sept. 30, some players will be at the high school football game between Denmark and Luxemburg-Casco, visiting with fans and selling t-shirts, with proceeds benefitting the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation.
