GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — A Green Bay food truck is back on the road after a May car accident that destroyed their original truck.

Owner Anthony Swett had insurance, but the trailer was completely totaled.
“I was just worried about how long insurance would take to work out before I got back up and running,” Swett told WTAQ. “It was a lot of worry, a lot of anxiety.”
The accident was caused when a teenager, using their cell phone, ran a red light on Oneida Street, hitting the trailer, causing it to jacknife, and tipping it over.
Swett says the community came together to support him, starting a GoFundMe that raised over $3,000. Through a friend, he found and made a deal on a new food truck, too, and was able to get his business back open again less than three weeks after the crash.
“It really showed us how much we mean to everybody,” Swett said Thursday. “I didn’t realize that until it happened. People were like ‘hey man, anything we can do to get you guys back up and running’, I’m really appreciative.”
With the larger truck, Swett says he’s now going to be able to expand his business, serving up a variety of Frybread based menu options.
“We can move into a bigger variety of stuff,” explained Swett. “It’s opened so many more doors for us, having a bigger trailer, so this kind of was a blessing.”
During the downtime, Swett encountered another problem: the Facebook page he used to communicate with his customers was compromised and hacked. He started a new page, which can be found here.
