GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Give Big Green Bay is back.
Organizers are hoping for another great year of fundraising for all of its 45 benefiting non-profit groups. Greater Green Bay Community Foundation President Dennis Buehler appeared Tuesday on WTAQ’s ‘The Morning News with Matt and Earl’.
“It’s a real time for us to talk about those organizations, celebrate their work, and, we hope, connect people with those organizations for volunteer opportunities or to become new donors in order to advance that work,” Buehler said.
It’s a joint effort between the foundation and the Green Bay Packers, who are contributing $250,000 to a pool of around $350,000 in matching funds.
“The Packers have been incredibly generous,” Buehler told hosts Matt Z and Earl Brooker.
Give Big Green Bay has raised more than $5.5 million over the past four years for the non-profits that benefit.
“We’re really excited…it’s a really wonderful time to advocate for the important role non-profits play,” Buehler said. “Many of the organizations you’ll know, and may you may not know.”
The event kicks off at noon on Wednesday and runs for 24 hours.
