BONDUEL, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A heartwarming moment took place at Bonduel High School Thursday night.
The school’s boys basketball team took on Iola-Scandinavia in the final home game of the regular season.
With about 1:30 left and the game out of reach, Bonduel students began chanting “Hunter” in hopes of seeing Hunter Johnson enter. It’s believed the senior, who checked in with just over a minute to go, had not made a basket in his career.
Johnson was given multiple attempts to make a basket, and with a couple seconds left, he nailed a three-point shot.
The basket sent students running onto the court to congratulate him. Johnson’s teammates and members of the opposing team also joined in the celebration.
