MENOMINEE RESERVATION, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A man has been sentenced in federal court for shooting another man on the Menominee Indian Reservation.
Prosecutors say Menom Powless-Brown, 19, was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison, followed by three years of supervised released. He plead guilty to assault with the intent to murder in September.
According to court records, Powless-Brown assaulted another man in March by pointing a gun at him. Powless-Brown shot the man, hitting him in the abdomen and Powless-Brown’s mother in the face. The male victim was badly hurt as a result.
The Menominee Tribal Police Department and FBI investigated the case.
