MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The weekend saw COVID-19 numbers in Wisconsin as low as they had been in more than a month as signs of a downward trend emerge.
The state Department of Health Services logged 387 new confirmed cases on Saturday, the fewest since July 25. There were 665 new confirmed cases on Sunday. The seven-day average fell to 1,482, down from a recent peak of 1,743 on Sept. 5. Test positivity averaged 7.7% for the most recent seven-day period.
One new death reported Sunday was linked to COVID-19. That kept the seven-day average at 13.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 681,625 total cases and 7,759 deaths.
As of Monday, 3,243,595 people (55.7% of the population) had received at least one dose of vaccine, and 3,050,518 (52.4%) had completed their vaccine series.
