(WNFL) – Coming off Thursday’s heart-stopping 86-83 win in Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Bucks seek to even their best-of-seven NBA Eastern Conference semifinal series with the New Jersey Nets Sunday afternoon in Milwaukee.
In Thursday’s win, Milwaukee took a 19-point lead at the end of the first quarter only to see Brooklyn battle back in the second quarter.
Neither team was able to generate much offense in the second half in a game that has been described by many as a “rock fight.”
Khris Middleton led the Bucks with 35 points followed by Giannis Antetokounmpo with 33. No one else had more than 9 points.
Kevin Durant scored 30 points to lead Brooklyn while Kyrie Irving had 22 points and Bruce Brown had 16.
Against the Nets, the Bucks are averaging 93 points per game and shooting just 38.7 percent on field goal attempts. Three-point shooting is dragging that percentage down where the Bucks are hitting only 22.7 percent. Milwaukee isn’t doing well at the free throw line, either, where they are making a meager 57.4 percent.
The Bucks are averaging only 15.7 assists per game against Brooklyn compared to the 26.8 assists per game they had against Miami.
Antetokounmpo is leading the Bucks in scoring during the playoffs at 25.6 points per game. Middleton is next at 21.6 points per game. He is followed by Jrue Holiday (14.3 ppg), Brook Lopez (13.6 ppg) and Bryn Forbes (10.7 ppg).
Game 4 of the series can be heard this afternoon beginning with the pre-game show at 1:30 on 1440 and 101.9 WNFL
