FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Prosecutors have charged a Milwaukee man following a shooting earlier this year in Fond du Lac.
Devonta D. Tate, 27, faces numerous charges, including attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
According to a criminal complaint, a police officer on patrol heard people yelling near the Kings and Queens Lounge during the 2 a.m. hour on March 28. As the officer approached the bar, gunshots were heard.
A male was found with two gunshot wounds and taken to a hospital. While the complaint does not list his age, police said the day of the incident that a 34-year-old man was in serious but stable condition.
According to one witness, an unknown male walked toward the bar with a gun. After people tried to stop him, he entered the bar, fired the gun multiple times, left the bar and shot a person, the witness said in the complaint.
Investigators identified Tate as the suspect two days later. He was taken into custody last month on a different matter, prosecutors say.
An initial court appearance has not been set.
