APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – More than 7,000 pounds of trash was collected along the Fox and Wolf rivers.
It was part of the annual Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance cleanup last weekend.
More than 1,500 volunteers were out picking up trash at 68 cleanup sites.
According to the organization, among the garbage collected included 1,763 straws, 472 face masks, 33 electronics, 2,375 plastic bags and 26 tires.
