CLINTONVILLE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Waupaca County SWAT Team was deployed in Clintonville Monday after a male threatened to shoot officers inside a home.
Clintonville Police say they received a frantic call for a man inside a residence that was throwing and breaking things at the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue.
The caller told police that there was blood in the residence and children were also inside.
Waupaca County dispatch said they could hear yelling in the background while they were gathering information.
When officers arrived they could hear yelling inside the residence and found blood inside leading to the upstairs.
Officers found the children in the house and got them out safely.
Police then encountered a male subject on the stairs armed with broken glass, who then proceeded up the stairs where another subject was present.
The male subject told police that he had a gun and was going to shoot officers. He stayed in contact with police but refused to comply.
Police say the male subject repeatedly told officers that he was going to kill them.
The Waupaca County SWAT Team was requested by Clintonville Police.
Shortly after they arrived on scene they made entry into the house and a male and female subject came downstairs and surrendered to authorities.
Clintonville Police say the male subject was taken into custody just after 6:00 p.m. Monday and was booked into the Waupaca County Jail on a parole warrant.
