(UW-OSHKOSH ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS) – It’s an old habit for the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh women’s basketball team.
They won the WIAC tournament title for the third straight year, sixth time in eight seasons and seventh time overall with a 74-58 win over UW-Whitewater Friday night.
It was the Titans’ 8th straight appearance in the conference tournament final while Whitewater was playing in it for the 4th time in 5 years.
The Titans took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Warhawks 25-9 for a 55-35 lead heading into the 4th quarter.
UWO’s Leah Porath (New London) scored 17 points with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. During the game, she became the 22nd UWO player to score 1,000 career points (1,010).
The Titans also got 15 points and 4 rebounds from Jenna Jorgensen and 14 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds from Julia Silloway.
Whitewater was led by Johanna Taylor who scored 23 points.
