(WNFL) – The Wrightstown Tigers dreams of bringing home a state championship ended in the WIAA Division 3 boys basketball semifinals Friday as they lost to Racine St. Catherine’s 53-44.
The Tigers led 8-6 with 13:05 left in the first half on a 3-pointer by Matthew Hansen but that would be their last lead.
The Angels went ahead to stay less than 30 seconds later on a 3-pointer by Jameer Barker.
Wrightstown was able to hang tough with the Angels with St. Catherine’s biggest lead being only 9 points.
Wrightstown shot just 31 percent overall and made only 5-of-24 3-pointers.
St. Catherine’s shot 43 percent and didn’t rely on 3s, attempting only 14 and making 3.
Matthew Hansen led Wrightstown with 16 points. Joe Hella added 12.
Barker led St. Catherine’s with 22 points. Tyrese Hunter added 14.
