GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ) – Charges have officially been filed, and an arrest warrant has been issued for 17-year-old Dezman Ellis in connection to the fatal shooting at the Fox River Mall on Sunday.
The Outagamie County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges of 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide and 1st-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety against Ellis. Ellis allegedly shot and killed 19-year-old Jovanni Frausto during an argument near the food court around 3:30 p.m. on January 31st.
“We’re pulling out all the stops. We want this guy,” said Grand Chute Officer Travis Waas. “He’s obviously shown no regard for human life. He made that apparent on Sunday. And we’re going to utilize the resources that we can to locate him and take him into custody before he does something foolish again.”
The Grand Chute Police Department has also partnered with the U.S. Marshals Service. The U.S. Marshals have dedicated a significant amount of resources to bring Ellis into custody, according to a post from Grand Chute Police.
“U.S. Marshals have dedicated a significant amount of resources to us to ensure that Mr Ellis is swiftly captured and brought to justice,” Waas told WTAQ News. “Investigators are working with the Marshals, and they’re keeping any information regarding where he may potentially be at kinda held close to their chest at this time.”
Investigators are actively working with the Marshals Service to follow up on all tips as they are received.
