OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A murder case may be resolved before the trial, which is scheduled for next month.
Ian Suzuki has pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of mental disease for the Feb. 2 murder of Jay Puestohl. A four-day trial is currently set for Jan. 11.
But during a scheduling conference Wednesday, a ‘change of plea hearing’ was set for Jan. 6, court records show.
The incident happened at Suzuki’s mother’s home, during an argument about the conditions for him to live at the residence, police said. Suzuki allegedly stabbed Puestohl, a retired police officer.
