DETROIT, MI (WTAQ) – The Green Bay Packers have once again claimed the NFC North Division Title, following a 31-24 win over the Detroit Lions at Ford Field on Sunday.
The Packers also now hold the top seed in the NFC playoffs, as the New Orleans Saints lost to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon. While the win-loss record is tied with the Saints, a tie-breaker win over New Orleans in Week Three gives Green Bay the top spot.
Aaron Rodgers led the team to victory in Detroit, going 26/33 through the air for 290 yards and 3 TD’s. He also ran for a touchdown. Rodgers’ touchdown passes went to three different receivers (Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Robert Tonyan Jr.). Adams had 7 catches for 115 yards. Aaron Jones led the rushing attack with 15 carries for 69 yards.
The game was secured with under two minutes to play, after a Lions onside kick attempt went out of bounds. The close call was reviewed, but was determined to be correct.
The Packers next game will be at Lambeau Field as they host the Carolina Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday night.
