DETROIT, MI (WTAQ) — The Green Bay Packers have had their three-game winning streak snapped, falling to the Detroit Lions 20 to 17 on a last-second field goal Sunday. Detroit kicker Jake Bates connected from 22 yards out as time expired to give the Lions the win.
The Packers took a 14-to-10 lead in the third quarter on Jordan Love’s 25-yard touchdown pass to Josh Jacobs. Detroit answered with Jared Goff’s 10-yard touchdown pass to Jameson Williams, then sealed the victory with a late drive. Green Bay had a chance to tie or win, but rookie kicker Trey Smack missed a 35-yard field goal after a Detroit defender got a hand on the kick.
The Packers fall to 4-and-3 and drop to last place in the NFC North, while Detroit improves to 4-and-2. Green Bay will try to bounce back Thursday night when it hosts the Carolina Panthers. The Lions host the undefeated Minnesota Vikings next Sunday.
