Timber Rattlers duo wins behind-the-scenes awards: Major League Baseball has announced a pair of important behind-the-scenes members of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers as winner of year-end awards. Jordan Gretzlock is the Groundskeeper of the Year and Mason Kubly is the Home Clubhouse Attendant of the Year for the Midwest League in the just-concluded 2026 season.
Nominations for the Groundskeeper of the Year Award were made by Midwest League managers, who provided feedback on the quality and condition of fields around the league throughout the season. Gretzlock’s dedication and attention to providing the best possible field at the highest of standards was strongly highlighted by the managers to earn the distinction.
“We are so proud and fortunate to have Jordan as our Director of Grounds,” said Timber Rattlers President Rob Zerjav. “The work he and his team, including our Assistant Director of Grounds, Lucas Scheier, do on a day-in-and-day-out basis is truly impressive.”
Gretzlock, a native of Madison and a 2020 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a degree in Horticulture, has been with the Timber Rattlers since 2021. He interned on the Grounds Crew of both the Milwaukee Brewers and Minnesota Twins prior to joining the Rattlers.
“Whether it is from Major League rehabs, roving instructors or the visiting teams, we have heard for years that our field is one of the best playing surfaces in not only the Midwest League, but the country,” added Zerjav. “Congratulations to Jordan for officially being recognized as one of the best in the industry.”
Kubly, the Timber Rattlers Home Clubhouse Manager since 2019, was recognized by MLB for his effort and performance this season after being nominated.
“Mason does an outstanding job taking care of the players, coaches, staff, rovers and rehabs coming through Appleton on a constant basis,” said Aaron Hahn, Wisconsin’s Vice President – Baseball & Stadium Operations. “We are excited for Mason to be recognized by MLB with this award and are extremely grateful to have him on our team.”
Both Gretzlock and Kubly will receive trophy bats from MLB for their awards.
