Bradley Hartmann (Fond du Lac Co. Jail)
FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Bradley Hartmann pleaded not guilty Tuesday for allegedly making obscenity-laced death threats against Gov. Tony Evers.
Hartmann, 46, faces seven counts, including three of making terrorist threats.
No trial date was set. He returns to court Nov. 2 for a status conference.
According to the complaint, the calls were made June 28 from Fond du Lac to an office at the Capitol.
An edited excerpt from the criminal complaint reads:
The first voicemail from Hartmann states: “VICTIM 1 you f—— piece of s—. You wanna f——- get the gays and lesbians over from Sheboygan. If I ever see you I’m going to f——- kill you, you f—— piece of s—. You are the f——- worst (redacted) in the f—— state ever. I will f—— kill you if I find you, you f—— b—-. Resign, Trump 24 you f—— dips—. I will f—— find you, I will f—— kill you. Why are f—— gays and lesbians any more different than f—— straight people, you piece of s—. Yea call the cops on me I dare you, you f—— piece of s—.”,” the complaint states.
Another voicemail dares the official to come to Fond du Lac, where Hartmann again threatens to kill Evers.
Police contacted Hartmann at his home.
Hartmann hung his head down and stated he didn’t intend for anything. Detective Blank asked Hartmann what he had said to the VICTIM 1; Hartmann stated he did not remember. Hartmann stated he was at his house last night and used his cell phone, which was in his hand. Hartmann stated he did not live with anyone besides his cat,” the complaint states.
When asked about the voicemails, Hartmann stated he doesn’t remember really making them and must have blacked out. Hartmann stated he has no intent to hurt VICTIM 1 and is embarrassed by his actions. Hartmann made a comment about maybe he should stop drinking. Hartmann stated he was irritated by what is going on in the world right now and possibly saw something on TikTok or online about VICTIM 1, and that is why he got upset,” the complaint states.
