(WNFL) – Logan Henderson pitched 7 strong innings to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 6-1 win over the Texas Rangers at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Friday.
Henderson allowed just 1 run on 1 hit while striking out 7.
The 1 hit was a solo home run hit by Appleton native Danny Jansen.
Aaron Ashby and DL Hall each pitched a scoreless inning of relief to close out the game.
The Brewers took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a run-scoring groundout by William Contreras and an RBI double by Christian Yelich.
David Hamilton and Contreras had RBI singles in the sixth and seventh innings to make it 4-1.
In the eighth inning, Milwaukee tacked on 2 more runs with a Jackson Chourio run-scoring single and a sacrifice fly by Contreras.
With the win, the Brewers improved to 84-51 and hold an 8-game lead of the Chicago Cubs in the National Central Division.
The Brewers also hold a 3-game lead over the LA Dodgers and 4-game lead over the Atlanta Braves for the best record in the National League.
The Brewers will send Shane Drohan to the mound tonight. He is 6-5 with a 3.84 ERA.
The Rangers will counter with Cal Quantrill. He is 6-4 with a 2.90 ERA.
