(LEARFIELD) – The New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor popped his 13th home run of the season, giving his team a 3-2 walk-off victory in 10 innings Tuesday night over the Milwaukee Brewers at CitiField in New York.
The Brewers had tied the game in the ninth.
William Contreras continued his hot hitting by going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles.
Christian Yelich and Luis Lara drove in Milwaukee’s two runs.
Trevor Megill took the loss.
Brewers shortstop Cooper Pratt found himself benched in the fifth inning by manager Pat Murphy after Pratt hit a bloop single to right.
Murphy talked about that.
Murphy said that Pratt missed a chance to get to second on that.
Murphy said that it is a message for both the player and the team.
Dustin May starts the second game of the series tonight. May is 6-8 with a 4.57 ERA.
The Mets will counter with Robert Stock who is 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA.
