(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers are on the road tonight to face the New York Mets.
The Brewers who sport an MLB-best record of 81-50 will send Kyle Harrison to the mound.
Harrison is 10-3 with a 2.84 ERA and 122 strikeouts.
Over his last 3 starts, Harrison has allowed 3 earned runs on 13 hits over 14 2/3 innings.
The Mets will counter with Zac Thornton who is 3-4 with a 3.04 ERA. Thornton will be making his 10th start of the season.
The Brewers are 7-3 in their last 10 games while the Mets are 6-4.
The Brewers are 36-26 on the road while New York which has been outscored by 40 runs over the course of this season is 30-35 at home and 31-47 against teams with a .500-or-better record.
With the Chicago Cubs winning Monday night, the Brewers’ lead in the National League Central Division shrank to 5 1/2 games but in the race for the top seed in the National League, Milwaukee leads the Los Angeles Dodgers by 1 game and the Atlanta Braves by 5 games.
The Mets, meanwhile, are playing out the string in what has turned into an abysmal season with a 59-72 record. They are 17 games behind the first-place Atlanta Braves in the National League East.
