MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — One person is in stable condition after they were struck by a vehicle in Manitowoc early Saturday evening.
According to the Manitowoc Police Department, it responded to a report of an accident with injury around 5 p.m. Saturday.
Once units arrived to Waldo Boulevard at N 14th Street, officers found an 80-year-old Manitowoc woman laying the roadway.
The driver of the vehicle involved, a 61-year-old Manitowoc woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.
The investigation determined the 80-year-old was crossing the road in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by the vehicle.
The 80-year-old taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
Manitowoc Police reminds drivers they must yield the right-of-way and stop or slow down to safely allow a pedestrian to cross the roadway in any unmarked or marked crosswalk at an intersection.
