To promote its new sci-fi thriller The Last House, Netflix took experiential marketing above the streets of Los Angeles by building a fully furnished living room into a billboard 30 feet over Sunset Boulevard and sealing a real human inside.
The temporary elevated resident “lived” inside the enclosed space at Sunset and Selma Avenue August 8th through the 8th, attempting to maintain a daily routine while communicating with curious commuters and passersby down below using a dry-erase whiteboard. The publicity stunt served as a direct nod to the plot of The Last House, which stars Greta Lee and Wagner Moura as a married couple forced into survival mode after becoming inexplicably trapped inside their suburban home with their two children.
