GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Demarcus Hicks was sentenced to eight years in prison for providing a fatal dose of fentanyl which killed a woman in Green Bay.
Hicks, 37, was also placed on extended supervision for eight years at Monday’s sentencing hearing by Judge Donald Zuidmulder for the count of delivery of fentanyl, court records show.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to a Basten Street residence on May 25, 2024, for the death of a 25-year-old woman.
An autopsy determined she died of the “Toxic effects of fentanyl and para-Fluorofentanyl,” the complaint states. Cell phone records connected Hicks to the victim and a drug transaction.
Eventually, Hicks “admitted to selling heroin over the past year, citing financial pressures such as rent payments as his motivation,” the complaint states – including a drug sale to the victim in this case.
