Social media has served up the official drink of the summer: coffee slushies!
You start by brewing a pot of coffee and letting it cool completely, or simply grab a jug of store-bought cold brew. Next, pour individual portions into ziplock bags, seal them tightly, and lay them completely flat in your freezer so they stack neatly. Once frozen solid, pull a bag out and smack it with a rolling pin or wooden spoon to crush the frozen coffee into coarse, slushey chunks. Dump the icy fragments into a glass, pour your favorite milk or creamer over the top, and watch as it melts into a rich, slushy texture. You can even toss in a few pumps of flavored syrup to elevate the blend.
@thenewyorknest My new favorite summer coffee hack ☕️❄️ no equipment or skills needed! Freeze cold brew in a Ziploc bag (I USE @LA COLOMBE) out all your daily frustrations by aggressively smashing it into a coffee slushy! 🫶🏼🙂 Pour it over a little milk (or creamer) and enjoy. Basically a homemade coffee slushie without any fancy equipment. I love how it doesn’t get watered down because it takes me SO long to finish my glass! Pro tip 👉🏼 punch the bag while you’re thinking of all the times someone did you wrong, it makes the coffee more flavorful. 🙂 #coffeehack #icedcoffee #coldbrew #coffeetiktok #latteathome ♬ Italian Parmigiano - Kley Kley
