(LEARFIELD) – A four-run fourth inning broke a 1-1 tie on the way to the Milwaukee Brewers’ 7-2 win over Cincinnati Tuesday night at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
The Brewers took a 2-1 lead in the fourth on Sal Frelick’s sacrifice fly. Joey Ortiz then drove in 2 runs with a aingle. Jackson Chourio capped the rally with an RBI single.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy talked about his players using a lot of discpline at the plate.
He talked further about their approach against Reds pitching.
Brandon Sproat went five-and-a-third innings to pick up his third win of the season.
Sproat said that he just kept attacking hitters after the first inning.
Chad Patrick, Jared Koenig and Grant Anderson finished up with 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.
Chourio and Jake Bauers provided the power with Bauers hitting his 15th home run of the season and Chourio hitting his 12th. Frelick had 3 hits.
Frelick talked about where the team is at heading into June.
He also talked about what has turned it around for him.
Shane Drohan starts the game tonight as the Brewers try to extend their modest winning streak to three in a row.
Drohan is 3-2 with a 3.12 ERA.
The Reds will go with Andrew Abbott who is 5-4 with a 3.90 ERA.
