GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Green Bay animal shelter’s roof collapsed during severe storms that rolled through the area on Wednesday.
Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary was evacuated when the shared roof of the buildings at 153 N Broadway collapsed Wednesday evening around six p.m.
Green Bay Fire officials say concerned residents cannot enter the space until the building inspector arrives.
Around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary’s Facebook posted an update on the situation.
It says the first floor of the sanctuary has flooded.
For anyone wanting to help the sanctuary or the cats, the sanctuary says anyone can stop by and help with the evacuation and clean-up efforts once the building is cleared by fire crews.
