STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A Sturgeon Bay woman was arrested overnight for allegedly stabbing and killing her roommate.
Police say they were called to an apartment building in the 1800 block of Florida Street around 12:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they say a woman twice told them, “I stabbed her.” The woman then said the victim was in the hallway to their upstairs apartment.
Officers who went into the building found a woman lying on her stomach with stab wounds to her back and a severe cut on her neck. Officers and EMS tried to save the woman’s life. She was taken to the hospital, where she died.
The woman who first met police was identified as Susan Soukup, 52. She appeared in court Tuesday, where a $1 million cash bond was set. She is due back in court on Monday. Formal charges have not yet been filed.
The 32-year-old victim’s name has not been released.
