A highway in Tennessee turned into an impromptu, chaotic light show after a commercial truck carrying a massive load of commercial fireworks caught fire and exploded. The incident completely shut down traffic as emergency crews could only watch from a safe distance while thousands of fireworks detonated at ground level, shooting colorful rockets and thick plumes of smoke across both sides of the roadway.
According to state troopers, the disaster began when a fire sparked inside the trailer portion of the vehicle while it was in transit. The driver was thankfully able to pull over to the shoulder and unhook the cab to escape unharmed before the flames reached the cargo. No injuries were reported, but the intense heat and continuous explosions heavily damaged the asphalt, leaving cleanup crews with a massive pile of charred cardboard and debris to clear before the highway could safely reopen.
