The 2026 peregrine falcon season is officially underway at WPS and We Energies power plants, and the “nest cams” are already seeing plenty of action. As of early April, 10 eggs have been confirmed: three at the Weston Power Plant, three at Port Washington, and four at Oak Creek. Experts are keeping a close eye on Milwaukee’s Valley Power Plant, where more eggs are expected to arrive any day now.
Since the program’s inception in the early 1990s, these nesting sites have produced 465 falcons, accounting for roughly 20% of all peregrines born in Wisconsin. This year’s brood will be part of the “Good Sports” naming contest, where fans can vote on names for the new arrivals. The first chicks are expected to hatch toward the end of April, and you can stay updated on all the “egg-citing” news and bird bios by following the WPS social media channels.
