Philadelphia officially claimed a savory new world record on National Cheesesteak Day (March 24, 2026), when organizers at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) assembled a continuous line of 1,291 cheesesteaks! The massive culinary feat stretched across the Terminal B/C connector, spanning roughly 1,271 feet (the equivalent of more than three football fields!)
To set the record, teams used 990 pounds of shaved ribeye, 225 pounds of cheese sauce, and over 1,200 rolls provided by Amoroso’s Baking Company. Once Guinness World Records adjudicator Michael Empric verified the record, the sandwiches were distributed to travelers, airport staff, and TSA workers.
