Apple is preparing to release eight brand-new emojis in the upcoming iOS 26.4 update. These icons are based on the Unicode 17.0 standard and are currently appearing in developer betas.
Here is the quick breakdown of the new additions:
-
Distorted Face — A yellow face with an exaggerated, warped “fish-eye” effect. It’s already being called the “internal scream” emoji.
-
Fight Cloud — A comic-book style dust cloud with lines sticking out, used to represent a scuffle or chaos.
-
Hairy Creature — A silhouette of a Sasquatch or Bigfoot-like figure.
-
Orca — A killer whale, a frequent request from nature and ocean enthusiasts.
-
Ballet Dancer — A performer mid-pose (includes various skin tones and gender-neutral options).
-
Trombone — A long-awaited addition to the brass instrument section.
-
Treasure Chest — A cartoon-style chest filled with gold and jewels.
-
Landslide — A symbol showing rocks and debris sliding down a slope to represent natural disasters or metaphorical “landslides.”
The update is expected to roll out to the general public in late March or early April 2026.
The “distorted face” is already going viral!
